Most quality custom table covers are made from polyester — but the weight, weave, and certifications vary enormously, and they're what separate a $45 cover from one that survives five years of trade shows. Here are the materials that matter and when to choose each.
The four fabrics that cover 95% of the market
- 6oz polyester poplin — the workhorse. Durable, wrinkle-resistant, machine washable, takes vivid dye-sublimation print, and at LogoClothz it's NFPA 701 fire-certified for venue compliance. Used across our throw and fitted covers.
- Stretch spandex/polyester blend — the tight, modern fitted look for cocktail and high-boy tables and display tables. Wrinkle-free when installed. Honest note: stretch spandex is not fire rated — if your venue requires certification, choose a poplin style.
- 12.5oz wrinkle-free heavyweight polyester — premium drape and a pressed-linen look straight out of the bag, with full all-over dye-sublimation printing.
- GRS-certified recycled polyester (rPET) — verified recycled content with the same full-color printing and NFPA 701 certification. See eco-friendly options.
Watch the weight — it's the hidden quality signal
Budget covers often use 4–5oz fabric that shows the table through the print and wrinkles badly. Fabric weight is the first spec to compare when a price looks too good: many suppliers don't publish it prominently. Economy has its place — our 5oz economy line is priced for one-season use and says so — but know what you're buying.
Certifications worth checking
- NFPA 701 — fire safety standard many convention centers require. Ask before you buy, not at load-in.
- GRS — third-party verified recycled content, not a self-awarded eco label.
